Breastmilk is the best for babies. The World Health Organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. Unnecessary introduction of bottle feeding or other food and drinks will have a negative impact on breastfeeding. After six months of age, infants should receive age-appropriate foods while breastfeeding continues for up to two years of age or beyond. Consult your doctor before deciding to use infant formula or if you have difficulty breastfeeding.
Your little one might have to wear a facemask if going outdoors and their skin can become irritated by the mask’s material or saliva, resulting in sensitive skin. If they start to have an allergic reaction, please consult your doctor or health visitor. They can help determine whether the symptoms are caused by an allergy or other condition. In addition, please follow these steps to make sure it doesn’t get worse.
It’s recommended to use a gauze on the breathable inner side of the mask, so that the mask does not stick directly to the baby's skin and can absorb moisture and saliva. The gauze should be changed regularly.
Once you’ve arrived home, remove the mask and clean your tot’s face, applying a hypoallergenic moisturizer.
Reducing your child’s outings and therefore wearing of a facemask is a direct way to reduce the chance of mask use and Coronavirus infection.
